"Fields of Gold" Sunflowers

                  There is a local sunflower field here that is very popular on social media, the Ooltewah sunflower fields in Ooltewah (\"ool-tuh-wah\") , TN. People love to pick the sunflowers, but mostly to take their \"selfies\" while standing in the middle of the field. Though I\"ve never been to the fields at the Smith Farm, the flowers remind me of the song, "Fields of Gold," which has been performed or recorded by Clay Aiken, Sting (who is also a former teacher) , and several other musicians and groups.

             Sting was inspired to write this song while he and his wife owned a house near a barley field.

      Here are 3 videos of Clay, Sting and Celtic Women performing the song, " Fields of Gold" and a video of the sunflower fields;

            I hope you enjoyed the flowers and this song. Thank you to those who took the original photos and made the videos. What does the song, " Fields of Gold" make you think of...? Please let me know in the comments below.

  1. Cynthia,

    I'm glad you mentioned the sunflower field in Ooltewah. That'll be something we will need to check out next year. Maybe the pandemic will be settled down by then and we can make it an interesting day trip. Thanks for sharing the mewsic. I enjoyed listening to Sting sing "Fields of Gold". Have a great day!
