From the time we are children and throughout our lifetimes we are told stories. Some are fictional like the fairy tale Cinderella or even fan fics
about a celebrity, such as I and others have written on the Clay Aiken Official Fan Club Board .
True stories teach us about ourselves and others. and fictional stories broaden the imagination of the writer/storyteller and the reader.
Even more important are stories from our personal and world history. For example, in the case of family history; how else would a member of a new generation know about a relative who has passed away before their birth? As for world and national history, a new generation of leaders could learn from the mistakes of the past.

I think family and historic stories help people to identify their position in life. It gives people an identity and connection with others.
