Clay Aiken's Second Dream

       Before Clay Aiken tried out for American Idol and became the singer, actor and politician he is today; Clay had the dream of becoming a special education teacher.

             Although his love for children of all abilities still continued, Clay found a different classroom- through UNICEF and his own charity, the Bubel Aiken Foundation, which is now called the National Inclusion Project. He taught his fans some things along the way and helped celebrate other teachers at the 2004 Disney Hand Teacher Awards;

    What do Kailash Satyarthi,  Malala Yousafzai, and Clay Aiken have in common,  besides being in the news?

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Their efforts to improving the lives of children (and others)                          

   
  
• Kailash Satyarthi is from India and has been a teacher and champion for child labor rights. He and Malala Yousafazi have recently won a Nobel Peace Prize.    
•  Malala Yousafazi is a young lady from Pakistan who has fought for the rights of women and girls.      
•    Clay Aiken was studying to become a special education teacher when he auditioned for American Idol in 2003. He has used his celebrity to benefit various causes, many related to children in need with UNICEF and the National Inclusion Project(which he co-founded). Now, he has put his career in entertainment on hold to run for office.                    
  •    One difference that the first two people have from Clay is that their endeavors have lead to injuries and death threats . Another is that Clay has not received a Nobel Peace Prize.

Congrats to Kelly Clarkson and family!

                 Congrats and God bless to singer Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock on the recent birth of their baby girl, River Rose Blackstock! I imagine Clay Aiken is happy for them. This baby will hear some of the best lullabye singers in the world.
