   There are many ways to celebrate Spring and ; but for now, we will focus on just a few of them. Springtime is a great time to try something new. It is wedding season now through Summer, so there is an American Idol Wedding Song Playlist. In addition, music festivals such as Riverbend, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and the Governors Ball are coming up.        Are you ready to go to a music festival ? There are several to choose from, depending on  where you live . If not, it's  a good time of he year for 'road trips' and Spring Break. A few of the festivals  near me are Riverbend and Bonnaroo . Here is a  list of American music festivals by state.  If you are not sure what to bring with you, ThoughtCo has some ideas for you.

         If you have disabilities, mobility issues, or chronic illnesses  like I do, it's hard to go to music festivals- but you should check out the festival or venue website or even visit the location beforehand, it will help you be more prepared.

Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021!

      Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and quarantine starting in 2020, most people were ready to say goodbye to the year and hello to 2021. Unfortunately, the pandemic is still here; but there are two vaccines available 

     

       I am lucky that most of my friends and family are covid-19 free so far as I know, yet there have been some scares. I have not lost anyone to the disease so far, however I did have a loss last year. My beloved Yorkie mix Ziggy lost his 3 year battle with kidney failure. I had other dogs before, but it was like losing a relative. It was especially hard since it happened during quarantine. 

             One of the last bright spots of  2020 was a live video on Facebook from Clay Aiken   He sang the song, " All Year Long. "

              Do you have any wishes or resolutions for the New Year? One of my resolutions for 2021 is to post at least 2 posts a week here.  I hope Covid-19 is wiped out before the end of 2021. It would be great to see Clay in concert or in a play, but the pandemic will have to be long gone before that happens. Remembering Pearl Harbor with a Pomeranz Song

     There are not many World War II veterans or many of the generation that remembers the War and the attack on Pearl Harbor . It happened almost 80 years ago today.  While I do not remember the day as I was not alive yet, my parents and my maternal grandparents did. My dad was deployed in the Navy and helped recover bodies there. 

    The song I chose, "It\"s In Every One of Us." for a musical tribute was written by  David Pomeranz  . It has been performed by John Denver and The Muppets , The Hollies, Clay Aiken, Cliff Richard, and many more.

Nine Golden Songs You Will Love

      The golden hues of summer have left North America, but the golden hues of autumn are here now. Today we have songs that feature the colors of gold and yellow in their title or lyrics.  Clay Aiken, BTS, and many more performers all have a song for today's playlist. 

          

         The first song is Stay Gold by BTS(3)   BTS is a South Korean pop music group that is very popular worldwide now. They recently participated in an online live concert.

             Next, we have a song that was recorded and by one former teacher and performed by a certain former teacher. The first one is Sting(4) and the latter, of course is Clay Aiken (5) .  The song is "Fields of Gold."

           The next performer, with \"Gold\" in her name, portrayed Olivia Newton-John in a television movie. Delta Goldrem\"s (6) song is "Solid Gold.". The fourth and the sixth through the ninth songs take me back to my childhood in the 1970\"s. The fifth song is more recent. At number four(in no particular order) is "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles (7). "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" by Tony Orlando and Dawn (8) is the sixth tune on our Spotify and post playlist.   The seventh song is by America (9) , "Sister Goldenhair." Donovan (10) has the next melody with the same name as a ctrusy soda, "Mellow Yellow."  Sir Elton John (11) rounds out the list with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." 

         I didn\"t forget the 5th song by rapper Wiz Khalifa (12) "Black and Yellow."

      Happy Valentine's Day to; Clay , his family, and all of Team Clay, all my friends and family, and especially to my readers! Clay has had some pups over the years and shared their pictures and included them in videos; from Raleigh and Durham to his current dog, Harlem.

 I have had a dog, a Yorkie mix, since over a year after this was first published. A former neighbor gave Ziggy to me and my mom after a divorce  and before she remarried. They had other dogs and she and her new husband had a baby boy in addition to her kids from the previous marriage. Ziggy has stolen our pillows and furniture , as well as our hearts . He's had a few tough times over the years. A dog attack shortly after we got him and a few years ago, he was diagnosed with canine kidney failure. He still has a spunky attitude, but we're not sure he'll be around much longer. He's gotten very sick before and rallied around  but now he's just about stopped eating, even his favorite foods. Still, he's given us a lot of joy and love over the  past almost 10 years. We don't  know when his birthday is, but we have tried to make everyday feel like a special  one since we got him.  I have an Instagram account for him and a Facebook group to keep friends and family updated on Ziggy's health and antics. He has a few YouTube videos.

🐕  Puppy Bowl VII 🏈

     I watched the Animal Planet Channel's Puppy Bowl for the first time, and thought it was way cuter and more fun than the Super Bowl! They take groups ("starting lineups") of pups who are up for adoption and put them in a room with a small football field with a water bowl-camera and a hamster camera , and a referee. Most of the time the pups play with each other than their footballs, but it's all in fun and to raise awareness for dog adoption. They got referee calls like; "unnecessary ruff ruff roughness" and "unpuppy like conduct" and were pulled out of the game. There were chicken cheerleaders, a kitty halftime show and dogs were tailgating in "campers". There were Subaru commercials that featured dogs "driving". For more info, check out the link above.
