I just saw an amazing and inspiring movie last night on Netflix. Lifted is a fictional movie about a boy, Henry Matthews, who's father(played by Dash Mihok) is going overseas to serve in the army. His family lives in a small Alabama town with his parents. His mother(played by Nicki Aycock) is a recovering addict. While running from bullies after school, the boy, played by Uriah Shelton, runs into a church where Ruben Studdard' 's character is pastor. The pastor recognizes Matthews' musical talents and suggests that he enter a state singing contest for youth. Meanwhile, conditions at home for Henry aren't going well. His parents lose their home to foreclosure and the contest offers money and a recording contract. The film winds up with a very touching and inspirational ending and a dedication to our fallen soldiers. Although the film is rated PG 13-the film is worth seeing. It will touch your heart!
