Take five minutes or less and try to think of singers that currently perform without a heavy dose of auto-tuning and technical manipulation. Out of these artists, how many are under 40? My lists were about even, but I expected the under 40 list to be much smaller. I was pleasantly surprised. The artists over 40 includes; Celine Dion, Sandi Patty, The Osmonds and Doris Day. The younger group consisted of; Clay Aiken, John Legend, Josh Groban, Charice, and Charlotte Church. I know there are singers that I could add to these lists, but these were the ones that came to my
mind and in a hurry.
There are some things that I enjoy about today's music; but there are some things that I miss about the music of the past four decades. I enjoy some of the advances in music technology, but it seems like some of the focus and effort on getting good clear vocals is becoming passe. Also, as much as I enjoy downloading and streaming music; I miss the thrill of waiting for an album, saving half a week's allowance as a kid, going out to buy it, playing it until the cassette or record wore out or I discovered another, and rediscovering the same album a while later, like a buried treasure.
As a side note, one of the clear voices in my area recently passed away. Luther Masingill was a television and radio reporter for 72 years in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

title that makes people want more? I mean "Finding Today's Clear Voices" is kinda
