Sunday's Song # 7:"Bridge Over Troubled Water"

    

       

           "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is one of Simon and Garfunkle's biggest hits and one of their last. The song was written by Boudleaux Bryant and Felice Bryant.  Felice and Boudleux were a married couple who wrote several songs. In addition to Clay Aiken, other singers who have performed this song include Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin. There is a Cantonese version of the song and another one used in Australia's X Factor.

                Clay performed this song on American Idol and it was one of his earliest recorded songs. The song talks about relationship and support, but Simon and Garfunkel were splitting up their act when they recorded it.
